FOR OUR VISITORS: Unlike our neighbors to the East and West, Jamestown is an Island lost in time. What you will
not find here are strip malls, traffic lights, congestion or hustle and bustle. What you will find is a New England seaside village atmosphere offering miles of beautiful coast, a stretch of beach at the end of a deep cove, a world class marina, great places to eat and interesting shops. If you enjoy boating or fishing this is your paradise, or play our golf course overlooking the salt marsh estuary. No visit is complete
without a tour of our historic windmill and the dramatic vistas of Beavertail Lighthouse, the third oldest in the country.
If you want to take advantage of all that Newport offers, leave your car behind and take the
water taxi across the bay. There’s no better way to get there. To better acquaint yourself with the Island, we encourage you to
read the articles in Yankee Magazine and The Boston Globe.
A LITTLE MORE FOR OUR WINTER AND LONG TERM TENANTS: In an era of big box stores, the
Island still has a local hardware store, pharmacy, florist and
excellent
market, all located in the Village. We even have an authentic Italian wood fired pizza/bakery.
For information on Jamestown schools: compare the ratings to neighboring towns on

Jamestown Schools website for photos and details. Additionally, we are pleased that Bloomberg Businessweek magazine featured Jamestown in an article titled
The Best Places to Raise Kids 2013. One small town from each state was chosen, and Jamestown was selected for Rhode Island.
